can you have it where we can let users view boards but members must write in a specific thread before viewing other threads ... much appriciated

Doesnt work for me, no matter what I enter in the forum ID it refuses to
let users post anything anywhere. So you just go round in circles.
Could you let us know what exactly to insert in the forum ID? I tried just
23, then fid=23, then the entire link, etc. Nothing worked
